Calgary Babysitters

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Calgary Babysitters collects through this website, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Effective 1 January 2026

What we collect

We collect only the information you choose to submit through the placement inquiry form. That includes your name, email address, phone number and preferred contact method, together with the details of the position: placement and caregiver type, preferred start date, number of children and their ages, your neighbourhood or area, schedule, wage range, driving and live-in requirements, languages, responsibilities, a description of your ideal candidate, and how you heard about us.

We deliberately do not ask for your exact street address, and we ask that you do not include health information, financial details or other sensitive personal information in the free-text fields.

Our website analytics record aggregate, non-identifying usage information such as page views and which calls to action are used. This is used to understand how the site performs, not to identify individual visitors.

How we use it

Information submitted through the inquiry form is used to review your request, contact you about the position, and — if you proceed with Full-Service Placement — to conduct the search on your behalf.

Where a search is underway, relevant details of the position are shared with potential candidates so they can assess whether the role suits them. Your contact details are not shared with candidates until you agree to an introduction.

Your family’s requirements are never displayed publicly on this website.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

We use a small number of service providers to operate this website and to receive inquiries: Vercel for website hosting and privacy-focused analytics, Resend for delivering inquiry emails to our team, and Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection on the form. These providers process data only to provide those services to us.

We may disclose information where required by law.

The self-service option

The self-service search is provided by NannyServices.ca, an independent platform. When you follow a link to that site you leave this website, and any information you provide there is governed by NannyServices.ca’s own privacy policy and terms. Please review them before creating an account or contacting caregivers.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond to your request and to maintain reasonable business records, after which it is deleted. If you ask us to delete your inquiry sooner, we will do so unless we are required to retain it.

Your choices

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you have submitted, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Under Canadian privacy legislation, including Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act, you have the right to ask how your personal information is being handled.

Security

Inquiry submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and validated on our server before being emailed to our placement team. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date below will change when we do. Questions about privacy can be sent to placements@babysitterscalgary.ca.
